Vic-Fezensac 2026 - torista feria par excellence!
A bull of Los Maños is given a vuelta en arrastre at Vic-Fezensac
The tiny French town of Vic-Fezensac is set to witness a superbly-programmed Pentecost feria this May. Put together by the aficionados of the Club Taurin Vicois, the feria features a wide range of interesting ganaderías and every important torero with a career built on facing toros duros.
The feria commences on the morning of Saturday May 23 with a novillada con picadores featuring Núñez bulls of Aguadulce for the Spaniards Gonzalo Capdevila and Pedro Andrés and the Peruvian Pedro Luis. A corrida of Prieto de la Cal bulls follows in the afternoon to be fought by Vic’s old favourite, Alberto Lamelas; up-and-coming Luis Gerpe; and France’s main matador for corridas duras, Maxime Solera.
May 24 features two corridas, the first Vic’s traditional corrida concurso which this year features bulls of Saltillo, La Quinta, Partido de Resina, Benítez Cubero, Dolores Aguirre and Pagés Mailhan for the veteran Francisco Javier Sánchez Vara, never-say-die Román and the exciting Mexican Isaac Fonseca. In the second corrida, Baltasar Ibán bulls have been contracted for last year’s feria triunfador, Morenito de Aranda, José Garrido (who won a special mention here last year) and arguably today’s leading matador to toros duros, the Colombian Juan de Castilla.
A novillada sin picadores kicks off the feria’s final day with French bulls of Le Lartet (whose animals are a mix of Marqués de Domecq and Cebada Gago blood) for the Andalucian Manuel Real Realito; Rémy Asensio, a French alumno of San Fernando’s Escuela Taurina ‘Rafael Ortega’; and the winner of the Bolsin de Bougue, which takes place at the start of May. The feria’s grand finale is a corrida of Miura bulls for the toros duros tried-and-tested trio of Pepe Moral, Damián Castaño and Gómez del Pilar.
All looks set for a great torista feria, the visitor to which can also enjoy the fine local gastronomy and the beautiful rolling countryside of Gascony. Tickets can be bought online at www.toros-en-vic.fr .
